Never had any trouble making cd's but now i have a problem
Itunes and media player say the same thing
Please insert a blank disc when i go to burn
The discs are blank.... there brand new and iv used identical ones before and they've worked fine
Any suggestions?

dodgy dvd drive?
perhaps give the lens a clean using one of those lens cleaner cds?
not 100% sure but hope that helps.

Could try disabling it in device manager then re-enabling it. Doubt that will wor, more likely to be the laser slightly out of true. Needs a new one - costs only buttons, fitted in minutes.

try above, or update driver for it/firmware.. but...
are these new blank cd's u bought? because you might have the wrong cd's for your drive. certain drives play -'s or +'s sum can do both. so check that out too..
might be able to read - or + but maybe only burn to 1 type.
doubt ur drive is nakard m8 so dnt worry just yet. try the things above includig other's suggestions! shud solve it

I would say your puting in a disk which your CD/DVD-ROM does not support. i.e DVD disk in a CD-R or visa versa?
or if it is a DVD-RW, as Brooksy said '+' and '-' are sometimes fussy depending on your drive.
