Strictly speaking yes, you should declare them as there not a standard part for your car (its meant to be steelies and hub caps)
Mine came on the car and tbh i've never declared them or my spoiler - just said they came on the car :err:

What??! Don't be a cock! What if all your wheels are fucked and you can't change them back... Why don't you ring them, say you're thinking of putting vtr alloys which are 14" [an inch larger than your current ones], and see how much extra it will be. It won't be alot mate, about £10-20...!

Yeh the Desire does come with 165/65/14 wheels, the VTRS are just 20mm wider.

you should always claim, I know the co-op usually don't mind aftermarket wheels, will need to check this out when I finally get some :p

how much did your insurance go up by when you told them about the exhaust, lowered, induction kit, VTS interior?
lol.
TBH mate you should declare everything but who does? we are all getting bummed so hard already by them i was just happy to have a sheet of paper that said i am insured. (Which i am, as my car is standard)

You may aswell have done... Your gran isn't going to have a k&n, momo pads and aftermarket blinging trims... And the subs etc!

Having the policy fronted is illegal and can void your policy.

Not necessarily. My brother crashed his car last month and while he went to hospital in the ambulance they took his car to a recovery yard. He was allowed to go down the next day and pick up his belongings. How could you change your wheels over in a situation like that? You would be in big trouble if you hit someone else then your insurance company voided your policy because they found you hadn't declared your mods.
It cost me £3 to declare my VTS alloys to my insurance company. It's just not worth it
