Had a similar problem, my VTR would jus rev between 500 1500 revs, up and down. Then even cut out! Got a new coilpack amd that did the job for me.

got one didnt work.can rev rite up too 5500 rev with clutch down.cheers

idle control valve/idle stepper motor.
Possibly something along those lines if you have done coil pack already.
