Am going to be refurb and re-spraying my wheels this weekend. quick question though. where's best to get the 80 and 1500 grit paper from and also the primer/paint/lacer from? cheers

I tend to pick up alot of my stuff from Halfords. Although some say its bit more expensive in there. I just use it for convenience, as its closer..
Sometimes I get my stuf from a small local motor factors, as they're a bit cheaper, but also stock alot less, so sometimes dont have enough of what I need.

cheers, what kind of paint do i need? is there like a specific alloy paint?

Normal primer (colour will depend on what top colour you use)
Paint, ie: a car colour will be fine, as long as you use enough primer underneath
And then just lots of lacquer

sweet. thing will be going for white on my icelandic grey vtr. will i be able to get the sand paper from halfords?

Yes, Halfords do stock a reasonable range of sand paper. Its not the cheapest but ideal for convenience
