legally you're not permitted any tinting on the rear. As when the car was produced, the lights would have been E-marked. Basically saying they conform to EU laws and regs.
Therefore, if you alter the amount of light emitting from them, you are voiding that E-Mark status, in turn making them non road legal.
Looking from a different Point of view, as long as they aren't stupidly dark, ie: not showing any light through at all, then I'm pretty sure you'd have to be very unlucky to get pulled and fined for them.

yeah aslong as the light is clearly visible still should be ok, might be worth having a spare set for MOT time though

Buy ultra's. Smoked rears look poo imo.
