There was a budget head unit guide in revs a couple of months ago..mine came up as the best buy, its only 150 quid now and is very good for the money! Its a pioneer deh-1400r

not too sure on prices, but some of the alpine stuff is neat...and performs well, am sure you can pick summin respectable up for 250 though <img src= "smileys/happy.gif">

bought it about 3yrs ago, still working perfectly loudly through my amp! lol



wouldnt mind a new one with some more EQ's though and a separate sub vol for when i eventually get me a sub

Ive fucked the sounds in the car, used to have the 6x9's connected to the back of the head unit, but got pissed off with the wires i could't be arsed running under the carpet, so connected them to the amp along with the sub. now thew 6x9's cant handle the power and the sound needs to be so low i can hardly hear the sub <img src= "smileys/depressed.gif"> need to fix it but i cant be arsed the now <img src= "smileys/smiley9.gif">
