heya all

was looking around the forum and many people saying get a VTR instead of a furio as its better. very true a VTR is better than a furio

but i was wandering what sort of difference we talking between the two when it comes to insurance?

i mean its 0.2 of a litre and a few more valves :p

but how much it will add to insurance for a new driver ages 17 :p

any ideas???

Furio/westcoast gp5
Vtr gp 7

Both are 8 valve!

Do some trial quotes on confused or moneysupermarket to see what comes up with your details!

maybe due to the area that you live in?

also....a saxo will always be higher insurance due to alot of people looking at one and thinking 'boy racer' etc

try a quote on a clio or fiesta or something, then compare and you will see what i mean :)

its the perception of people who drive saxo's....

2.2k for insurance? just go TPF&T for ya 1st year or two...then think about going fully comp etc when you eventually have road experience etc :)

astras arnt that expensive to insure, considering the sri's are also quite nippy. once you get a year or twos experience and ncb then things get a lot cheaper.

the difference in quotes between a furio and vtr wont be too much, but then again you might be saving a few hundred quid as your quotes are so high anyway.

id consider going for a 1.1 for a year while things are expensive to insure. then again i got a furio for first car too.

will there be alot of difference between a MK1 VTR and a MK2 VTR ?

might be better to get a MK1 VTR

the mk1 is cheaper to buy for obvious reasons.
but to tax is quite expensive (£180) due to emissions being greater.
and is a bit slower, due to being ~8bhp less.
also supposed to do about 6mpg less.
the mk2 is a group7 car to insure where as the mk1 can be group 6 or 7.
