rite i think this may only concern the vts owners... rite well got a little problem with a 106 gti which will have the same split driveshaft as a vts am i right???? well thers like a grinding noise coming from the front of the car..... mechanic has ben in the car with me when ive drove it and he said its not the gearbox because it does it when free wheeling in neutral and its not the clutch..... so what he said is that there is a split drive shaft and the bearings might of gone at the middle could this be right???....

yeah but i know what the driveshaft sounds like when it goes.....like the actual cv joint it nocks when turning round a corner this is doing it in a straight line if i swerve left and right while going straight it will stop making the noise when turning it right but still do it when turning left if you get me..... but is it a possobility that with it being a split driveshaft the middle part mite of gone??? as i know vtr`s only have straight driveshafts is this right???? ive changed to on a 106 quicksilver and they only had solid driveshafts not split ones>?

driveshafts are full of bearings, theres not a specific noise or way of steering to tell if one is gone.
if it sounds like a metal on metal scraping then its the driveshaft, especially when out of gear like yours.
