Spraying Rocker Cover etc.

My engine bay is needing a good clean, so am gonna give it a bash. Planning on painting the rocker cover and other paintable parts. Just wondering if any1 had any tips on how i should go about it? N wats the best paint to use n that? Cheers :y:
