I've currently got one amp thats powering my front comps and rear sub. (this is the amp (http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/2911.html). I've got a dedicated RCA sub output on HU running to amp and also a set of RCA's for comps running to amp. Im pretty sure my HU only has 2 RCA outputs so if i wanted to install another Sub (so will require another amp) how should i do the setup?

it is possible to hardwire your head unit to take 3. Some bastard stole my good head unit but i had a old pioneer with two pre outs and got an auto electrician to wire it up. everything works now but it was a rite bollocks to get working properly

tbh i wouldnt bother ading another sub they dont make much difference, what sub have you go at the minute??
you can also link the amps up with a rca lead, aux out :y:

the sub i have is this http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/4027.html
the only reason why im thinking about having another sub is because my mate had a vibe twin enclosed 12" sub, and when he played that in his car its bass and volume was much better than mine... which got me thinking about adding another sub.

because it was a ported box too probablies, theres no reason why yours cant sound as good, if its set up correctly it will create good bass mate, have a mess about with the settings on the amp and headunit
dont whack the gain right up though, and have the headunits volume on a nice listening level

My HU volume goes up to 75, i have it at around 35 - 40. any louder and it sounds as tho only comps get louder and sub stays the same.
i did think i had the settings right the other day, but when volume is low'ish, say 6 - 7, theres no bass until its turned up to about 20, then when im at 35 it sounded great... but is that normal to have no bass until its loud? i can adjust settings so its nice and bassy at a low volume, but when i crank it up the music sounds poo. can you have it just right so that theres a gentle but noticable bass on a low volume, which keeps its note when cranked up?

you tryed the filter on the amp

when you say filter if you mean the HPF and LPF then yeh. havent really messed with frequency that much, think they are both in the middle. not really that sure how the frequencies work... am i right in thinking if both frequency levels are at a quarter, on the sub the frequencies up to the quarter come through there, and on the comps the frequency over the quarter run through them?

well im at work at the mo so might just drive it in the factory, close the shutter doors and get playing. dont suppose you know if theres a typical frquency setting that bass plays best at (or the frequency range for bass)? failing that i'll just have to rock the factory for a little while.

its your ears like a always say mate, cant rally suggest anng, i like my components to do all the treble and higher frequencies and the sub to do all the bass, its a lot more crisp this way i find
