View Full Version : tortion bar bearings - grooves ??

just baught a new rear axel and been taking it apart in the garage, got everything down so its striped down to just the main bar, minus the arms and tortion bars,
anyhow noticed that where one of the arms has been on the bearings have lewft almost like an imprint, hard to decribe but if you know what a bearing looks like out the bar you might understand.
anyway im wondering does this mean that its fucked ? its not completely smooth, however the grooves are only on the top side of the axel part (not sure whats its called) centre rod maybe? not the anti role bar tho..
anyway any help on this would be mint.

As far as i know, the pins that stick out are meant to be completely smooth. Jpsaxo can get hold of new pins though.

yea them shiney bits at the end, they have small groves from the bearing on the top half... ive heard that this can cause the wheels to point inwards when breaking...
