Chapter One: The Birth of Tiffany

So back in February 2007 i passed my test, went crazy in my mums Ford Focus, and was forced to buy my own car. I settled for a 1.1i 1997 Amazon Green Citreon Saxo. I would have liked a bit more of an engine, however, insurance wouldn't have liked it. So in March 2007 I got a call from the garage down the road saying they have an excellent Saxo in. For £1000, I got a 1.1i Saxo with 118k on the clock, however, it did come with a years tax, a years MOT, six months warranty and a full tank of petrol! I wasn't going to modify it to begin with.

Chapter Two: Bitten By the Mod Bug

Within a week I'd bought a Sony headunit with an aux-in. Was dead chuffed! Fitted it and barryed hard for a long time!

Next was spraying the centre console and heater and speaker surrounds silver, which was then followed by a strange green from HomeBase. You'll all be glad to hear it's now back to black!

Then some d*ckhead smashed my wing mirror and I decided to get some M3 ones to replace them. DIY over-smoked rear lights and smoked headlights continued the dark theme with my hub-caps being sprayed black to match.

Chapter Three: A garage full of parts

Next up I ran into some money and some luck; so came some three stud alloys, a R&A Designs front bumper and a VT* Kit in amazon green. However, running into money didn't go hand in hand with running into bother! Nothing was put on for a good four months.

Chapter Four: Realisation

I woke up one morning and realised that the car needed sorting so on eBay i went; a VT* exhaust, replacement glass for the original wing mirror, new smoked jewels, a leather interior, mirror caps, splitter. AND I started to fit everything I'd already got.

Chapter Five: It begins...

The smoked jewels arrived!

Dewipered, got the back bumper on, smoked jewels fitted and alloys on along with the VTR back box.

Fitted the new interior.

To complete the interior, I decided to spray the centre console in iPod white to match the buckets and also ordered a Momo Millenium Wheel and matching gear knob. Also got a Richbrook gaiter surround and ordered some new mats.

Thought it was time to tidy up the outside next, so lowering springs were ordered and the car was booked in for lowering! Bought some smoked side repeaters as well. I also began to refurbish my alloys.

lew15
16th March 2008, 22:48
Bad news! The Sax failed its MOT... So in order to get it through I'm taking extreme measures! I'm fitting the following so I know it gets through!

Rest of VTR Kit
Down pipe
Catalytic converter
Back-box
Lambda Sensor
New rear brake cylinders and shoes
New front discs and pads
All new filters
All new bulbs
All new fuses
New spark plugs

And after the MOT will come a new cambelt and possibly headgasket with refurbed alloys and resprayed parts.

It's going to be the smoothest running Saxo EVER! :)

lew15
29th March 2008, 20:54

Right so a little update, the springs are on the torsion bar will be lowered on payday! :y:

Smoked side repeaters really tidied up the sides and currently refurbing the off-side side skirt as it's falling apart.

Plans are:

May:
Lower torsion bar
Toyo's on the refurbed alloys
VT bumper sprayed and fitted

June:
Headlining retrimmed in black leather
Boot build in black leather
(Holiday :y:)

July:
Angel eyes

August/September:
Badboy bonnet
Respray and colour code
Smooth the towing eyes, the aerial, and the rear washer
Front number plate recess removed

Hopefully all in time for Trax :panic: which will be it's debut appearance!

Winter:
VTS conversion???

 OMG how did you manage to do that

mattchewone
3rd September 2008, 09:03
What happened mate?

Surely all the effort you put in getting it running right and looking right you could fix it fairly easily? New bonnet, wings, lights, grill, rad and slam panel.

went into the back of a corsa at 40... woops... would need new doors, chassis is twisted as well so its a no go really. about to salvage what i can this afternoon (alloys, interior, back lights, etc) the most annoyng part is the angel eyes were brand new a week ago! :(

oh well, shit happens. was my first (and hopefully) last crash. got my eye on another 1.1 going for about £500 so i'd just put everything from tiffany into that...

girlfriend was in the car at the time so i said she could name the new one... she's chosen the name Touloula ! lol... might have to see about that!

lew15
3rd September 2008, 09:32
it's mine anyway... im only 3rd party f&t... it had 130k on the clock anyway and the engine mounts went as well... the whole of the front end would have to be rebuilt... including the engine! not worth it on a 1.1

Connor_scotland
