Yeh..... Haven't really slept all night.

The police have said this car has been targeted, potentially a gang from leeds (which i drive through everyday) have followed me home.

The coupe had been parked on the front mon/tues night as I was down south working and I've got the van while monday, I got home wednesday and put her back in the garage as it made sence to run the van while i had it, keep the milage off the coupe.

Got up yesterday morning looking forward to going for a run to find no wheels in the garage.

Was def fri/sat it went has i'd had the keys with me.

Sorry to hear of the bad news Ryan, fingers crossed that it either shows up ok or the insurance sort you out in good time.

It'll be worth posting up a pic of the car in this thread, you never know it may be spotted by someone- at least the Reg will be fairly distinguishable

I'm never buying a flashy motor again, I cant ever feel how i've felt the past two days, sick to the stomach mate, Also - I cant afford a new motor and obviously need one quick as I have a 100 mile round trip daily for work, my boss has kindly said he will knock off my car allowance and order me a company car instead, I should have either a citroen C4 or Focus diesel by the end of next week.

oh shit didnt realise that was yours ryan i read that thread on aoc yesterday

Yeh its mine Steve, absolutely wounded its gone, Hadn't driven it since wednesday and even then I only put it in the garage as it had been on the front two days whilst I was down south, got up all giddy saturday to take her for a spin and gone!

looks like a pro has done it tbh, not ur average joyrider!.

like mentioned above itll be either ringed or stripped now so i really hope the insurance is fine with you!, and i hope u get what its worth.

get on autotrader and find similar spec models now! check the net, because the insurance will offer u a shit amount for it unless you can prove its worth more..

not really m8... they probably only got away with it because ryan managed to leave the keys so close to the front door... since they managed to get the keys... it wouldve been a piece of cake... no alarms or immobbys to deal with. its weired ive seen many ads about police advicing people not to leave their car keys like that... always thought that was some bs. proves me wrong in this case.

Without wishing to upset anyone, life really isn't that bad Ryan.

Getting it into perspective, it's just a car, a mode of transport. You have, from what I can make of it, a great family, a child with a very lovely smile and a lot of great things going on. Youir insurance will cough up for the Astra and that gives you a fresh start on the car buying world.

People worry to much about their posesions and things they have. More important stuff ti worry about. :)

That said, hope you get it back. I think the next car I buy will have a tracker, just so I can at least enjoy the feeling of catching the cunts that nick it

Sorry to here that Mate.

You said that it had only just come back from a re-spray..... do you think that the garage that did the spray could have had a part in this... think about it.

They have had your keys for a long enough time to make a copy, plus they would have had your address on their paperwork etc..... Might be worth a mention to the Police!!!

Chris :)

CampDavid - Your post is bang right, i've come round the fact the car has gone, its the invasion of privacy i would like to catch these scrotes for.

An update:

Well....

Thanks to the fantastic company I work for i've just been given an 07 plate 1.6 sxi astra to plod around in for now.

They have given me the choice of two company vehicles, Focus 1.8tdci or Citroen C4 1.6TD HDI...Obviously i'll loose my car allowance and pay a little tax but its my only option at present.

I've gone for the C4, the focus seems to be too common, also the C4 is lower tax, 70mpg!!!!!OMG!!!!, also looks the safer vehicle at the side of the focus...It will be delivered within two weeks.

Still no update on the coupe, I have to phone the claims validation team when I get home (insurance) no doubt they'll try and tie me in nots.

I'll update later.

Ryan

Potentially, But it had been 12 weeks ago...

the police have said its a team from leeds (which i drive through everyday), he reckons the car has been followed, waited for the right moment and took it!

I'm now in the frame of mind where I dont want it back!

Sorry for the late update guys -

Firstly there is no sign of the car.....The police have said its either been rung or young lads have it hidden and take it for the occasional blast use in robberys etc.

The insurance have completely bum raped me, offered 2700, i've refused and waiting for second offer...

Also I had a pair of 80 pound jenas in the boot and my 400 pound sat nav - Of which they wont pay out on...

On the good side my new wheels have arrived (Co Car)

Its a citroen C4 1.6HDI 110hp Iron Grey (5 Door, Better For Tiny)She's just hit 500 miles on the clock this morning, work we're very quick in sorting me a motor..

You could say my days of flashy cars are over for now, she doesn't turn heads but modern, comfy drive all the same - I'm happy with it!

Its a nice drive, and for a 1.6 the torque is crazy - 60-70mpg depending on my driving style!

I'll post some pics when I've cleaned it, looks a dog at the moment

Thats a shame that your car hasn't turned up :(. I hope the Insurance give you a good payout - what did you pay for it if i may ask? At least you have a nice new car now and sounds like your happy with it.

Shame they haven't found your car Ryan, but suppose they never will do.

That's the same engine I got in my Peugeot 307 - brilliant engines and I just got 520 miles from my last tank.

tbh id say its more than likely been raped for bits and chopped up by now

someone somewhere has problalby bought one damaged, then gone and had one nicked for bits iirc there not cheap gen parts for these

either that or as said its been twinned up with another

either way doubt you will see it again now mate nearly a month on
