Old Class NewCategory Description
Class 1 Category C+E Any goods vehicle towing any trailer
Class 2 Category C Any goods vehicle towing a trailer up to 750kgs
Class 3 Category C Any goods vehicle towing a trailer up to 750kgs
SO in theory yes depending on weight

^^ it does and it doesnt, the law is very sketchy. as i ready it i can drive a unit only as long as the fith wheel is taken off or covered up. but im not sure if that really comes into it or not

iv got a class two aswell and constantly get confused as to what we can and cant do. i would have thought you could drive a unit. without the trailer its no different from a rigid.

that what I would have said too. I'd check with authorities to be honest.
Also, if you do that for a job, your company should know laws and regs.

May have changed now but you can drive a artic on a car licence as long as it has no 5th wheel on it.
I wouldnt drive it mate just in case. Sounds silly since they are more simple to drive without a trailer on then a Rigid is.
