"brand new customers only"

has anyone seen those Nationwide adverts? in particular the one where they say "brand new customers only" a lot.

well i was in barclays at the weekend with my girlfriends mum to close down her husbands account because he sadly passed away, we went in and after waiting for ages we were finally dealt with. i went along for support for her as shes still very upset. we explained that we wanted to close the account down and that we have the death certificate, and their response was "sorry, we dont do bereivments at the weekends", and to this we were not happy cos.. well... why the hell not?!!
we asked why and they said, "err dunno, we just dont do them at the weekend"
we asked to see the manager or someone with authority and they came out and we had to explain it again, to which she replied... "well im sorry, we dont do bereivments at the weekends".

this reminded me of the adverts and we thought what a fuckin joke, but its true what nationwide are saying in their adverts...

we thought about going to nationwide and asking if they do bereivments at the weekend, but we didnt... cos.. thats just.... sad!!

oh well, just thought i would share that with you

That is a fookin joke, Does it really matter wat day of the week it is! Some of these companies I just dont understand.

thats just bollocks i would be firing a letter to their head office right away, and if that doesnt have a satisfactory outcome the papers and watchdog as well

under normal circumstances i would, but given the fact that she is very upset they just dont need it to be dragged out.
they want everyting to be over-with.

that is just bollocks!!! it shudnt matter what day of the week someone goes in to cancel accounts due to family loss!!! it shud be done 7 days a week
