Replaced drivers side spring today on the GTI-6, everything going perfectly well until a bolt sheared:cry:

Bolt on back of the hub that holds the bottom of the damper has sheared and will not come out.

I've bathed it in WD40, i've been using a hammer and punch to try and knock it out, i've used some crap from halfrauds called 'shock and unlock' but it won't budge.

I've thought of heating it up, grinding round the bolt head to get a smaller socket on it, cutting the head off completely and trying to knock it through the other way but decided against those until i'd heard some other suggestions!

Posted on GTI-6 forum already but had no replies so thought you guys might be able to help!

Any ideas welcome!

Cheers!

Can You Get A Set Of Mole Grips On It, If So Use A Gas Burner To Heat Up, And It Should Come Out, You Will Only Need Heat For About 10 Seconds

if you have access to a welder, spot weld a good strong nut onto the sheered one and spanner it off.
