Hes on about what the clock says.
Yes that is true about the speedos
Mine has 140 on clock, 52 plate.
There isnt a VTR with more bhp than 98 standard.
To find out which model you have and how much BHP use the search button mate, theres a thread that tells you how to find out.

1998 - 1999 90bhp
1999 - 2001 feb some were still 90bhp
2000 onwards 98bhp
some 2000 models were still having the 90bhp silver top put in them

yeah, mine was a 90bhp but seen a few 98bhp on here. People say cant notice the difference between 90 and 98bhp on the road.
You can my mates 98bhp always beat my 90bhp mk2 by a good coupel car lengths.
think only did them for the year 2000 thats why its hit and miss. wouldnt worry to much like. 90bhp takes better to mods unlike the 3 plug 98bhp.

dont think so, i can go take pics, the 03 plate has 140 in the number on it, then an extra 5 marker after it, and the V reg has 130, then an extra 15mph in the marking dots, as the newer ones go up in even 10s, and the the older goes up in odds.
old
10
30
50...
new
20
40
60
id go take pics if i could be arsed to go outside.
doesnt mean the car will go that fast

if they are registered after feb 2001 on the v5 they will have the 98bhp as it was to do with emissions and the tax is a shit loud cheaper than a 90bhp model
couldnt remember when they stopped the gold saxos must have been 2000-2001 cos they didnt make many, not ltd edition just rareish

You dont really need to go and take pictures smithy.
I've had two VTRs, they've both gone up to 140.
Brother has one that goes to 120.
I thought this was standard for all VTRs, But seems like im wrong..
Stig, the clock will probably go past 120 as saxo clocks are about as accurate as the petrol warning light..

What I dont understand is why they changed them to go up in even numbers, all the common speed limits are odds (30 and 70) so they should be more visible than just a line in between 60 and 80 lol, my beemer clocks are the same, does my head in.

I've seen V Reg and Y reg(my own) Gold saxos.
I dont recall any other plates tbh, so you could possibly be right!
But then again, even if you saw a later plate it might have just been sat unregistered for a while!
Interesting, but the answer could only come from someone with the information, no point going by plates in this case.
