Evening All,

Well I have been talking to Anthony for a last hour and he asked me to update everyone with his situation regarding the Westcoast, Insurance and obviously been away from here.

Basically, some of you may know that someone pulled out on him within a couple of weeks of passing his test, making a total mess of his Mango Westie.

Anyways, he has been driving around in a 307 (good choice ;)) but that has gone back now. The insurance came out to view the car, basically told him that it can be repaired and did he want to buy it back? So he agreed.....!

Now the car HASN'T been given a Category Write Off - so basically, it can be just repaired and put back on road - which is making me think it's only a CAT D as CAT C needs a VIC check.

Anthony was undecided if he wanted to repair the car as it would never be the same again, but I am pleased to say he his looking at quotes of getting it repaired and put back on the road.

There is just a quick update.

Luke

£270 to be exact, i don't mind. :y:

Shhhhh. ;)

Thanks for that Luke.

Yeah i am still unsure weather to repair to be honest as i said to Luke it won't be the same again, but i'm still only 18 and can't really afford to get a brand new car.

So basically i'm looking at quotes at the moment, if it's not to bad it will be done, if not i will be breaking her for spares and then look into something new, if it's repaired i'll probally run her for the year then sell up for that new car i was going to get.

Thanks for everyones concern and all the txt messages and phone calls people still give me from here, didn't expect to hear from any of you to be honest. :p

Cheers

Ant

Glad you've decided to get it fixed. Did they give you a decent amount payout for the damage?

With only £270 to buy the car back im sure with whatever money the insurance paid out extra that you can repair it perfectly.

Theres lots of people on here who can help out and ensure that things are done reasonably, certainly give Aid (tif992ss) a call and see what sort of prices he can give you for parts- you wont find anyone more helpful than him for that.

Putting bits back together theres plenty of us local thatll lend a hand to keep garage labour down.

Goodluck mate, you've got my number if you need anything

It is a bit of a state tbh.
Looks worse than it is I believe.

Just wait till the outcome and view the nicely revived westie.

Like Jimo just said, looks alot worse than it is, on pictures and initially seeing it it looks like a Cat C... But theres no chassis damage or anything like that.

Cheers Matt, i will give Aid a ring once i have quotes for other repairs.

You get what you pay for in this day and age mister. I will vouch for Aid being one of the most honest, helpful and genuine people you can buy virtually any part from on this site!

At the end of the day, he's not a private trader, he runs a business and pays tax on every part he sells (mr taxman:p)

Antony - how much did you get paid out from the insurance if you don't mind me asking?
