I guess it depends how well looked after it is...

Does it have FSH?

average is 10000-12000 a year

8 year old car so just slightly higher then normal

if its been looked after well i shouldnt be a problem

^^ it could be a minter though mate.

as long as a its been looked after then you should be alright but make sure you see proof of work thats been done

find out about the history of the car mate, if its been regularly maintained with regular oil and filter changes etc (plus the oil was of relatively good quality) it could be fine. plus, if the car is mechanically sound but with high looking mileage you could negotiate a bargin!

High miles can be better than ultra low miles!
Low miles never gets upto temp with short journeys!

As long as it`s been looked after there is no problem. If the high mileage is motorway miles then even better.

Steve.

depends on the previous owners to be honest.

106k with a nutter behind the wheel is probably going to be bad news
106k with a regular motorway driving could be good news

its not that clear cut unfortunately..

may i point out iv been involved in two non fault accident because Men drove into my car

may i point out that you probably caused them to crash into your car :p

laura_g
5th February 2008, 11:27
nopes not at all one was a boy racer who drove straight into the back and the other was a fookin blind old man who came out of a junction when i was on a rounabout staright into the side of me, oh and why is it that women get cheaper car insurance ad

Barry123
5th February 2008, 11:31
oh and why is it that women get cheaper car insurance ad

because they cause otherwise perfectly good drivers (men) to crash by doing something daft.

:)

you know im joking(ish) yeah?

laura_g
5th February 2008, 11:33
no im crying my lil heart out now ads oj, i know that im a better driver anyway lol anyway id say that over 100k is alot sometimes better if its a diesle though as they run for longer

when i got my vtr it had 106.000 on the clock i was slightly concerned. glad i did buy though its done 109000 now and hasnt missed a beat. love it. only problem with a high mileage car is the wear and tear parts that need doing. since ive had mine ive done the shocks, ball joints, top mounts and clutch kit, so in my case it wasnt the engine that was the worry and still isnt.

My car is on 124k now and gets abit of abuse, aslong as its been serviced as said and has been allowed to warm up before any hard driving it will be fine..

I do trackdays, abit of start stop driving and it gets nailed frequnetly and mine is fine..

Fortunatly i have replaced pretty much everything apart from the engine, wishbones and droplinks so all the other parts are like a new car..:P
