HI THERE PEOPLE, HEY I GOT A 1999 T REG WESTCOAST 1.4, WELL BASICALLY THE REVS SUMTIMES STICK AT 2OOORPM FOR NOW APPARENT REASON!!! I DONT KNOW WHY IT HAPPENS VERY IREGULARY, SUMTIMES THEY GO AWAY IF I JUS REV THE ENGINE A LITTLE HARD OR EVEN TURN THE ENGINE OF AND START IT AGAIN BUT LIKE I SAID IT WORKS SUMTIMES AND SUMTIME IT DOESNT. ALSO WHEN I START THE ENGINE ESPECIALLY FROM COLD THE REV NEEDS BOBS UP AND DOWN A LITTLE, DOES ANYONE KNOW THIS IS NORMAL OR NOT, AND NOT TOO BE A PAIN IN THE ASS (SORRY FOR THE LIL COMMENT) BUT WHEN I ACCELERATE ON FIRST OR SECONDM MAINLY, AND THE LET GO OF THE ACC PEDAL AS THE CAR WINDS DOWN THE CAR JERKS A LITTLE, THIS CAN BE REALLY ANNOYING WHEN STUCK IN TRAFFIC QUEUES!!! CAN ANYONE SHED SUM LIGHT ON THIS ALSO!!!!
THANKS SUKEY2K

its possible you might have a problem with the idling valve i dont know to much about it but i know it can be adjusted or a replacement may have to be bought im not saying thats what it is for definate but its a possibility

Could be the above yes.
I had a similar prob on mine.. turned out to be a coolant temp sensor.

i got a westcoast too and also found it reving at 2000rpm on idle sometimes, usually when it is very hot or cold. doesnt happen that often but i end up having to turn off the ignition and restart the engine, i also notice when i start my car in the morings the revs flucuate up and down smileys/smiley13.gif

i got a vts and have just fixed the same problem, it is the engine temp sensor (the green one NOT THE BLUE ONE), it was £12.27 from the main dealers, try that and you will find all your poroblems are solved,,,, (untill you see me that is,,, ha ha) smileys/smiley17.gif
