Urgent - ECU

To cut a long story short..

Broke down Saturday night last week.
Took the car to a mechanic my mum knows on Tuesday morning.
Come Friday he finally found the problem, a new ECU is needed.

Now i've heard it only takes like 5 minutes to fit a new one, you just take the old one out and fit the new one, or am I wrong?

I can't get hold of the guy, been to his house..nothing. The cars not there either so it will be at some auto repair place..

What I need to know is how long the job takes so I can hold it against him.

Pissed off to the max is an understatement.

its just next to the drivers side wing. it unplugs easy enough and would imagine it will only take 5 minutes to take off then put the new one on and plug it in.

I've had no car for a week now. Soon as I find where the car is there will be some interesting phone calls..

Only thing that i'm worried about now is the places shut now.

Takes the piss. He's still not answering his calls.
