Power steering problems

Ive bought a saxo vts about a month a go and ive started to have problems with the power steering just wondering if any1 else has had any problems, this is whats happening..
Its not kicking in immediately and after driving the car for about 5mins it kicks in ive cleaned all the connectors to no avail. Im wondering if theres any fluids in the market to go in the power steering to clean the inside and stop it sticking or is it buggered an just worth getting a new 1

turn ignition on and give pump a sharp tap with a hammer trust me it works

Is the battery light play about ?

alot of people have problems with them... there not exactly cheap 2 buy a new 1 either... just hit it with a hammer and hopefully shud release, mine used 2 do it alot but seems 2 have stoped now
