just wondering how easy it is to do head gasket?? can someone give me some hints and tips especially regarding timing

not an easy job if you dont no what your doing, to big of a job to explain on here mate, not sure if haynes do a manual on how to do this.
If you get the timing wrong it will ruin your engine within seconds.
You have to get it right, you only get one chance.

cheers ill get some prices tomorrow from local garages... it can be booked in after its been to the bodyshop :) its gonna feel and look like a brand new car :P

i had ma headgasket changed recently. it cost me 190quid with me supplying the gasket.

not a bad price :) i had a corsa that needed a head gasket... did it myself with the help of a friend and it was sorted, gasket only cost £30 or summit. wish my friend could come back from spain to help me with the VTR's gasket haha.. might give him a bell :P cheap flight will be less than £190 FTW

Your looking at around £240 + VAT at a garage, its not too hard of a job if you know what your doing but if you dont, I would leave it to the professionals.
