Just thought i'd say hello again from the gulf as I finally have 5 mins to get online!

I've been here since 18th of dec last year so missed xmas and new year.
Only 7 days to go untill I'm back in the UK! It can't come fast enough. lol

Hope everyone is well and the weather has warmed up a bit back home.

Love Kev

My boss went proper psycho at me in his office. He's been in the RAF 20 odd years. Old school lol.

Made me appologise in front of the whole of my shift for "bringing the RAF into disrepute"!

hes a techy on the tornados been in just over 3 year i think and on about 24k which is fkn good, been to usa twice and quatar twice and bratislava, not bad going if you ask me wouldnt have had that in civi life, hes more interested in the benefits of travelling than the life or work like. obviously has bad days but the raf is a job at the end of the day most people going in forget that and expect it to just be a different euphoria.

i always wanted to go in when i was younger wish i had tbh.
why didnt you like it? what were you?

I was a MT driver. got all of my license was a VIP driver, it was a good job but the life style is pants honest, however being a techy on a sqn is pretty cool coz if you go any where its with all your mates. where as my trade and alot of other ones your a one man band. I went to the falklands last year that was awesome like, its similar to buttlins lol, i went during winter and one of my major task besides refuelin tonkas was clearin the snow all hours. truely awesome that aint a joke either.

nah, doesnt matter how old you are your a kid in there eyes. shit i used to train ppl up on vehicles and trusted to qualify them but still was a kid in there eyes. Like i say going away is the best part attitudes change for the better. Id never advice it to any1 atm coz the raf is goin under bt in a couple of years itll be a decent job again

I'm an engine techie on the C130-J.

I love what I do and 90% of the lifestyle.

The 10% is all the military bullshit like being ordered to do certain things and being sent anywhere with f#ck all notice. But I signed on the dotted line so its put up or shut up! lol
