your 35 and are having that much trouble getting insured on a vtr? i can see you have previoius driving convictions but i have 7 points and 2 claims and im insured on my vtr (all mod's declared) for around £1k.
i would never even think about lying to an insurance company. they can send investigators out to inspect damage as a result of an accident. also, what i experienced last year during a cruise was that police were pulling people over, noting their modifications and then reporting them to their insurance companies.
if you are not honest with your insurance company then they will NOT pay out as a result of an accident. obviously the same still applies if somebody went into you. if your insurance company found out that you had lied about a modification, then it would be your fault and it will be you who will be loosing out.
there will be insurance companies who will cover you. but be careful because even though you may come across a 'reasonable' quote, there may be other charges, for example, your excess could be £1,000.
just out of interest, what have you already been quoted and by who?

so its not REALLY that much then (well compared to what some of us are paying). are they saying they will NOT insure you if you lower your car by 50mm or are they saying, your premium will increase dramatically if you did?

so u pay £900 for your insurance and thats for 2 ppl with 6 or more points?that aint too bad but im sure u could find better! i wouldnt lie bout anything as if u have a crash and they find anything different on the car than it says on the policy then they wont pay out and you will have a massive premium on any further policies you take in the future!

carl, bear in mind that CITROEN are getting quite hot on modded cars nowadays. i used to get things on my car fixed for free under warranty but i took the car to another citroen dealer and they charged me for doing some similar work.
they said, if you modify the car from factory standard, then your car is no longer covered under warranty. but this is a kind of grey are because another dealer says that if you take your car in to be repaired and the damage is a result of a modification, then it will NOT be covered (under the 3 year warranty).
im not really into f1, but people who look at my name, think im some kind of MAJOR f1 figure!?! i would NOT know why they'd say that!!! smileys/smiley4.gif
