Near Crash due to engine stall

hey, came round a corner at no more than 15mph engine cut out as though it was stalled powersteering went very heavy and brakes dyed - little panic and then managed to switch off and back on to regain power... then my petrol light came on untill i turned my car off and back on. plenty of petrol in there - can this be something to do with the fuel sensor? as i have had this problem before and no garage has found the fault, therefore it goes through stages of consistency and then wont do it for a long period. Any help appreciated.. thanks ;)

could be the fuel pump

and it stalled whilst coasting it/dipping the clutch... could be the idle control valve

oo cheers, i shall be taking it to the garage tmz and hopefully they can tel me, last time they were baffled as though i was making it up lol - i shall ask for them to check both - cheers - although id rather it be sumink cheaper :P damn cars :)

I had exactly the same problem with my 2001 vtr. It happened to me whilst going around a roundabout, my petrol light came on too until i switched it off and restarted. Very scary stuff.

Nobody could find a problem with it, just hope it never happens again.
