Right me and my fiance rented a nice modern end terrace house about 15 months ago, all was going well untill, 5 months into our tenancy some random bloke knocked on our door and told us that he'd bought the house and that he was our new landlord!!! ok well we wernt convinced so quick call to the letting agent they also didnt no what was going on but in the end it was true the other landlord had sold out and hadnt told anyone!! (bastard) So new landlords! Next problem because of the summer we had last year the house decided to become damp! wrecked our wardrobs fiance's motorbike helmet and loads more stuff to much to list! So this current landlord has decided to sell up also!! But at least he told us this time, but he assured us he is only looking to sell it to other investors. So if this is the case why when i had a viewing the other day did they ask when we were planning to move out!!!!
sorry for the long post, any of this happened to anyone else or have advice on where we stand?

doesn't sound promising, normally the contract drawn up between the owner and the estate agents will normally say if the current owner wants to sell it as an investment only property. i think thats right anyway :ponder:

do you have a tennancy agreement?
if not the estate agent should of given you one, in there would be the clauses for tenancy termination in either parties situation, without it they can demand you to leave, but if all furniture and fittings are yours you are classed as a sitting tennant, in which case they have to go to court to get you out! (legally) anyway.

its was through a letting agent but then when the first landlord sold the house it went private, we havent seen a tennancy agreement since, hence why were in the brown stuff! but hopefull found a nice house to go to its cheaper and has a garage, bonus! Now we have got to make sure we get our remaining rent back and our deposit. If no checks were made to house when he took it on (present landlord) he can't arguee about damage or stuff can he?
