rattleing boot! very annoying!

iv gone through many pages on the problems theads and havent found anything on this problem. Something in the back of the car, makes a rattle wen i go over the smallest bump, iv tightened the screws for the plastic that covers rear wiper etc, its not my licence plate, anyone got any ideas? and how to solve it? cheers

sounds basic, but have you checked spare wheel is tight, and the jack is fixed in securely, also make sure there isn't and spare wheel nuts/locking key in the spare wheel.

take the plastic part off that covers the rear wiper motor, if that doesnt solve it try removing the 3rd brake light cover. if you still have the rattle, STRIP THE WHOLE LOT!!! LOL

I`ve got the same type of rattle its the rear seats not engaged properly on the holding clips.

basically mate, if the boot itself is rattling, you can adjust the catch on the car (held down by two bolts) and that will get rid of the boot shaking,it would need more of a push to shut the boot but trust me it secures it proper...

also the rear seats shake because the rod that catches doesnt sit in the catch firmly, you could put insulating tape around the rods to make them think and sit firmly...

check for play where it catches too...
