Earth the hand brake cable, works for the majority of big brand head units so probably will for this too.

just take the cable meant for the handbrake to the bolt in the pasenger footwell. then the screen stays on the whole time

ive got this head unit. mate it shouldnt be to short. take the pink (handbrake cable. along under the dash to the pasenger door and there is a bolt on the bottem left of the footwell. unscrew it, them place your wire round it. tighten it back up again and BINGO!

or even easier just splice it into the earth on the headunit itself and you wont even need any wire
think i just used one of these when i did my pioneer one, just called a quick splice connector :y:

Think most dvd headunits have them, on my kenwood unit its called the parking sensor wire which you are meant to connect up to the parking brake detection switch, meaning the screen would only work when your handbrake is up.
But connecting it to the ground wire means it works all the time.

I don't know if you get nicked for it, probably just a slap on the wrist! Just blame it on the passenger watching the dvd!

We fitted one in a mates car, and we found a way around this.
Simply snip the pink wire, insulate it and leave it disconnected.
That was the way we was told by 3 different shops/ice dealers and it does work.

i just put in the post even when the the heaters were off heat still came out!? basicalyou have to have the cold air on but heaters shut off so cold air keeps the headunit cool/dont need to but saves messin it up

Yep I had the exact same problem with my sub, its to do with the permenant live and battery wires (red and yellow).
I changed them around (a few times coz my system is so god damn complicated!) and I don't get the big bass thud anymore.
