Hi all,

Have now finally got my car thro the MOT after high CO emissions. Cleaned the TB and put std inlet and exhaust on as well as new lambda probe and many other sensors.

When I started the car after cleaning the TB it now misses on idle the majourity of the time and feel like it misses when cruising at speed. It does not miss when accelerating and starting to annoy me. Has new sparks, fuel filter etc.

Could it be blocked injectors or possibly a crank sensor as I read in a previous thread?

There is no engine light illuminating on the dash either?

Any advice much appreciated.

Regards,

Matt

Highly likely to be an injector which is at fault. Haven't you changed practically all the sensors already??? :panic:

Sounds silly but you sure you connected all the sensors up correctly etc ? Worth a check

Did you have ecu settings changed to suit the bigger pipe filter etc ?

Possibbly could be a faults injector or crank sensor. Is it doing it all the time or just now and then ? If its just now and then especially when its warmed up a bit sounds more like a sensor breaking down.

Thanks both of you,

Yes Toad I have changed most my sensors! Kind of wierd as left the car for a week while fixing sensors etc then cleaned the throttle body bofore the MOT and developed a missfire when the engine was warm?!

Spoke to a fuel injection specialist and as you said, it fits the symptom af a faulty injector(s).

Thought coilpack or crank sensor but surely it would miss all the time if it was one of these?

Thanks for both your replies,

I think if the coilpack was giving up the ghost, you would have a very noticeable drop in performance. You would probably get a lot more misses than just the odd one here and there too.

Do you think there is any chance the carb cleaner could have damaged one of the injectors?
