Setting up my audio in the Saxo today Mk2, 2000 plate, 90bhp silver top engine.

Now normally you connect the power cable down the left hand side of the car from battery into amp.

However I have no screw on the positive connection clip on the battery so i've connected it into the larger of the two fuse boxes, onto a screw that has a wire coming from the battery.

However I have no power at all going to the amp.

If there isn't power coming from the screw and no place to attach the cable onto the battery where/what can I do?

Tested the sub/amp/every other cable...earth isn't that great either any suggestions where to connect that as well?

But the power cable isn't power'ing my friends audio in his car either.

So any suggestions/tips are welcome.

Remote wire is in both female/male connector are both pushed in together as far as i can push them lol.

My friends audio; remote wire, earth all fine but wouldn't power with my powercable. Parked boots back to each other...

Strange, even swapped the fuse on the power cable.

the loudest stuff suck, wouldnt even bother mate

first things to check

is the all connection especially remote, power and earth makes usre there all connected good

then check the fuses on the power cable, head unit and amp

if you have a multimeter use that to check to see if you have any power coming through on the remote and power

To fix the power cable I wedged the round connector next to the battery post and pulled the little clamp thing down - It seems to work fine.

I can take piccies tomorrow, but you'll probably be able to see what I'm describing.

Depending on what Amp you've got it'll either go into protect mode (Red light, instead of green) or it'll refuse to start, should the earth wire be poorly connected. I had this problem trying to earth onto the part that holds the boot latch - Either it's made of plastic, or the amp just doesn't like it... Dunno.

Honestly, it sounds like you don't have the power cable connected properly - Try wedging it alongside the positive battery terminal - Bend the connector into a rounder shape if necessary.

If you don't have luck using the back seat bolt as an earth point, you could try using a self tapping screw and washer to fix the earth directly to the boot floor.

If none of this helps then it's possible you have a dodgy cable... But it's generally a problem with connections as far as I've found.

i would suggest using your mates power cable to see if that can power your amp. if that doesnt work, you'll know its another connection. but i think that the prob is in where your connecting the power cable. buy a clip and attatch it straight to the battery!!
