compression test AND... smell the exhaust to see if the fumes smell sweet like its burning anti freeze, rev it and see how much white smoke comes out (not steam) watch ur temp guage, if it flys of the scale ur heads gone... check under oil cap, should be a choc milkshake residue there if head is gone, check ur oil, if it looks like milkshake then it might be f*cked.... Good luck mate! HG are easy to do, just be careful u dont f*ck up the timing lol

if its buring oil like fuck then its much be getiong lost some where could be the gasket try a compression test im sure you can get pumps for cheap ish and just stick the the bung in the oil filler cap pump to what ever the psi, bar, kpa, is usualy says on the cap and leave for 10 mins and see if the pressure goes down, thats how i think it would be done only done compression tests with water systems now oil... is there any oil on the sides of the engine try cleaning it and have a look for oil seeping down the block . if u do remove your head make sure u undo the bolts evenly and tighten them up diganoly as u could warp the head .. some one on here would have the right sequence usualy something like start in the middle and work your way out .. all the best

Bleed your radiator, if there is any sign of oil your head gasket is gone

Undo the reservoir cap for the cooling system & sniff it if you can smell petrol then yes the HG has gone.
