Anyone got this done on there windows?

Whilst parked at Louise's today, a guy was coming around knocking on peoples doors asking if they wanted it doing on their lights/windows. Louise's Dad agreed so I thought why not....!

So now EVERY piece of glass and both headlamps have them printed on. It cost £20 but at the end of the day the guy is making a living (Bet he his loaded considering how much he has done today) and now I'm protected as such.

Just think, only takes somebody 2 minutes to break into a house, get your car keys and away they go with your pride and joy. All they need to do is the ring the car (change plates etc) and then sell it on for a fraction of what it's worth.

Good idea if you ask me. My mum wants hers doing next as according to Vauxhall, the Corsa CDTi is VERY sought after so basically stolen to order.

Something worth thinking about.

Yeah it is a good idea really, have had it done on previous cars. They actually sell the kits on ebay now. :y:

Oh yeah, looks quite good.

Suppose £20 isn't bad at all really, considering they use the proper shotblaster too.

Yeah it's a good idea. Thieves might see it and get put off from stealing the car. If they do steal it then there's more chance of identifying the car if it is found. Didn't cars 10 or 15 years ago all have numberplates etched onto windows? Then it went to codes if I remember correctly?

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a kit to do them??

Never knew about this.

Wouldn't it just be a case of replacing the windows though? Or.. is that more trouble than it's worth?

Seems like a good idea though.

20 quid isnt bad.. when i worked at autoglass they did it all for free. But its a total waste of time...

Really good idea for the general motorist, adds a little bit of safety.

But on my own personal preferance ive got the etchings on my car which the previous owner had done, it annoys the hell out of me. Everytime i see a pic of the car i think FFS i need new windows lol

would be a good investment if you could get a machine that lets you make the reg numbers then you could do it to anyones car

More trouble than it's worth mate, think of stealing mine for example. They would have to change - Front Windscreen, all 4 side windows, 2 windows near the wing mirror, both headlamps, rear window - I bet that is in excess of a £1000 and it's really not worth it.

I was thinking the plate thing may annoy me on the window, but shouldn't do.

My step dads old Vauxhall carlton had the number plate etched in the window by where the door pin is and it wasnt anoying you could hardly see it most of the time.

Like what has been said, they did on a lot of old cars.

From what I can remember, I'm sure Renaults have the VIN on the wndows.
