hi folks,
i need help badly!

ive recently got Sky Broadband, i havnt set it up yet cause i dunno wat im doing.

I have a BT phone line currently.

Sky sent me a Broadband starter kit, which consisted of a CD and a wireless router, but the thing is - the wireless router isnt very wireless, it has about SIX leads with it. :n:

Im just wondering do these leads need to be connected to my BT line at all times..
Because if so, the wireless router doesnt seem all that wireless :panic:

Any help appreciated!

If you put the CD in the computer it tells you how to do it!

Very easy!

Router connects to the phone line - then your pc is wireless!

i can understand the CD ok - But if you read my question, i was just asking if the leads need to be conected to my BT line at all times?

Im guessing it does.

Yeah the bt line needs to be connected aslong as you want internet access, it will have some micro filters in the box (2 i think) when you do the step by step on the cd it will tell you :y:

The wireless part refers to how your computers connect to the router. The router must be plugged into at least a power supply and a phone line :y:

one of the wires will probably be an ethernet cable so you can still run a wired connection which would be slightly quicker than running a wireless connection too.... so you could consider running your router close to your main PC so that you can run a wired connection to that and have any other secondary PC's or WiFi accessories running wirelessly...

just a suggestion
