Nevermind the game... What's the odds for Rafa to go before the end of the season...?

Robb
19th February 2008, 10:06
Great odds for Rafa to go before end of season.

I heard the board have said if he doesnt win europe this season then hes on his bike. But to be fair, liverpool do well in europe, still cant see them beating Inter cos they rock.

3-2 Inter.

Hanuman
19th February 2008, 10:24
lets face it internazionale are the most feared team in the cms league rite now, they havnt lost a single game in italy, 10 points clear, by far best deffensive record conceeded like 14goals in 24 games, scored the most, cms league they have won 5 lost 1, they are THE team in europe

liverpool are poo at the minute, tbh i think we will do ourselves proud 1-1 or 1-0 win but ultimately deep down if anything goes wrong big style (As good as inter are) then itl be bye bye benitez which i would be MORE than happy with provided we get a good coach, benitez has took us as far as he can, he has done AMAZING, but like footballers hes reached his peak and now hes just doing the most STUPID decisions iv ever heard of from a manager, bye bye benitez and a big big thank you. (HOPEFULLY)

Scattle

Clouds_mate

Coudl say the same about Pennant.

Im interested how Chelsea and Arsenal are more dier, when infact chelsea have MORE then the team your actaully trying to defend.

Sidwell usually comes on as a sub near end of most games. So he plays regually/consistently just not a starting 11.

Clouds_mate
19th February 2008, 10:59
Also the fact that the chelsea players i mention in the starting 11 are actaully the starting 11 for england too.

Couldnt really say that about Utd or Pool

the team that was put on sunday was gd enough to beat barnsley or at least it should of been like

LinfeildFc4Life
19th February 2008, 12:28
starting 11 was : Itandje, Finnan, Riise, Hyypia, Carragher, Lucas, Alonso, Benayoun, Babel, Crouch, Kuyt.

Substitutes: Martin, Arbeloa, Kewell, Gerrard, Pennant.

surley that should beat league one side the if not then the futre of liverpool is in ruins

Hanuman
19th February 2008, 12:29
yea probably but thats not the question, but that wasnt anywhere NEAR the strongest liverpool line up. which is what we "should" be using to beat inter milan tonite.

Hanuman
19th February 2008, 12:32
starting 11 was : Itandje name says it all, Finnan good, Riise who is on AMAZING form, Hyypia getting his last games in, Carragher GOD!, Lucas absolute poo got ALOT to live up to his rep, Alonso again not been playing due to injury and form , Benayoun hmmm, Babel who isnt played as much as he should, Crouch good, Kuyt i would accept £4.50 for happily.

Substitutes: Martin, Arbeloa, Kewell, Gerrard, Pennant.

surley that should beat league one side the if not then the futre of liverpool is in ruins

out of that line up about 5 would be in the top 11 yes it should still win barnsley but it isnt the best team and that isnt the team we would put out against inter whicih is why we play the crapper players in micky mouse cups, as we know we have a chance against huge teams in great cups

yes....if Rafa's eyes the Champions League is more important, due to him being foregein, and not understanding fully of the way us English do things....

yes he has had 5 years....5 decent years...it still isnt an excuse...

i dont think Rafa should go, i think the Americans should....all the things that they have done since they have come here is cause havok. And its affecting the players becuase they dont know which manager will be coming in (klinnsmen((sp)) scenario)

all in all, i rekon Rafa should see out his contract atleast....

end of the day this saga with rafa and what not, you gotta ask yourself, the owners of the club are not on the pitch...they are not picking the team..... they have nothing to do with rafas poor choice of squad...what can only be described by any top pundit as crazy rotation system,

at the end of the day they are getting more stick than due.... rafa wanted BIG MONEY.... did we get torres....yes.. when we have asked for money rafa has got it, babbel and skirtel and what not were NOT cheap players,

only thing the 2 americans have done so far is.. talk about bringing in another manager which is what happens most of the time a new buyer takes control of a club they wanna bring in new things to improve. there is a fiasco with the stadium but at the end of the day this point in time the americans have not done anything other than let slip they wanted klinsman,

Raz
19th February 2008, 13:44
Hanuman - i blame the americans for the way they have gone about business since joining Liverpool. they have put constant preasure on Benitez, even though its the players fault at times on the pitch....

i blame our recent games on what goes on behind the board. No of us know what goes on behind closed doors....maybe the board are putting Benitez under alot of preasure because recent results havent gone the way we had planned....no we are in a dog fight for 4th spot....and i wont be suprised if we dont get it....

I dont know how some Liverpool fans expect to win the title this season, we are quite a way off from the big 3, but i think we have more quality than the likes of Everton, Villa, Man City etc...

I didnt expect Liverpool to win the league, i expected them to fight a hell of a lot better than they have...but thats football for you isnt it.

I dont believe the owners know alot about english football....someone should teach them what its about. They were talking about revealing potential targets....its not American Football!

end of the day you should try to win everything so your best 11 should be out there (if fit)

rafas silly rotation has cost him games, its a business at the end of the day and to make big money then winning all competitions is the way to go

get rid of rafa and bring in Jose ;)

i wouldnt mind him, but i think that Rafa is good enough....just need to stop getting hassled....

When Jose was in charge at the Bridge, he rotated nearly everygame....but never got noticed....Fergie rotated nearly every game, again, never got noticed....

Rafa rotation policy worked for Valencia, who says it cant work for Liverpool?

Hanuman
19th February 2008, 13:54
as you said you dont know the behind closed doors stuff, maybe they are unhappy with the way benitez is doing business. if you forked out ALOT of money on a "business" you dont expect to walk into it and never go back check the books or make ANY changes (99.9% of any business needs improving) so maybe they are unhappy with benitez (he sure as hell isnt give THEM anything to shout about hte way HE goes about his business is he?

yea maybe there is alot of pressure but thats football these days the AMOUNT of money they have spent buying us (wether or not we like it) they will want to see improvement and so far we have been very bad. tbh benitez has lost the plot, people want the yanks out...whos gonna come in DUBAI??? what do they know about footbal whos to say they wont come in and squeeze every penny out of us and be even worse than the yanks..

difference being chelsea and united can rotate their players and be effective. the b string is much better than liverpools

you need to win things and you wont by putting out your reserves, if you owned liverpool and ploughed alot of money into the club you would want to see some sort of silverware at the end of the year

not watch your reserves get beat by league 1 sides

Hanuman
19th February 2008, 14:01
raffa did good to get us where we are.... he is like michael owen, he had a big reputation..... he did great, improved did the business, now hes got to his peak and isnt going to get any better.

i love rafa for what he did but i support LFC not rafa benitez fc. if liverpool want to move on we either A. find a manager who can get the best out of his players and find the best squad and STICK.
B. or buy a squad like chelsea for 100.000millions to be able to satisfy benitizes rotation crazy idea.

Raz

i agree jay...yes if i owned Liverpool, id want to see silverware...BUT....i wouldnt expect it in the 1st season....especially as most the players are foregin (sp)......

i would give time for the team to gel properly...just my opinion on that subject.

when you say, chelsea and united can rotate and be effective....was it like that at the start? i very much doubt

you just said it best RAZ, give the team TIME to gel....

what does benitez do...doesnt let them gel, as he doesnt stick to a squad so we will never actually gel,

as a liverpool fan i would be happy if our position was down to alot of new players not gelling, but it isnt its down to STUPID managerial tactics, and possibly a few players being upset (which they shouldnt be)

Hanuman
19th February 2008, 14:11
it doesnt work like that raz. i have played alot of football and the basic answer is NO,

whats the point in playing 20odd players willy nilly so they get to know each other? by the time that would happen IF IT DID, half of them will have moved on to other clubs / we brought new players in, you have a set 11 in mind then anyone ELSE would learn to play with them, not 20 players trying to learn 20 different teams it just doesnt work.. simple.

kuyt had a good record but how poorley he has adapated surely poor scouting
skirtel has been player of the year and got various awards just like how vidic has so give him time tbh

and torres is the best signing we have made for liverpool in the last 10years, him gezzard and carra are gods. 20mil on torres was well spent, but there is ALOT of crap spent on the way,, ,money you dont see man u or arsenal wasting, due to clever transfers. thing is liverpool have NEVER been shy on transfers we pump alot of money into likes of heskey diouf kuyt palletta and its all wasted down the drain a year later

It's down to the last 16, as Liverpool take on Inter Milan (kick-off 7.45pm). The first leg is at Anfield and the Reds will have to forget about their humiliating 2-1 FA Cup defeat at the hands of Championship side Barnsley on Saturday and go right at the Italians to establish a lead. The return trip to the San Siro looks tricky against Inter, who are currently way out in front in Serie A. Alternatively, catch Olympiakos v Chelsea (kick-off 7.45pm) on ITV4.

zlatan is an actual god, watch his vids although people will deny it (until seen)he is actually as, if not MORE skillfull on the ball than C ronaldo, he can do exactly the same stuff but better + the fact hes about 6'3 is amazing tbh amazing technique he posses

lol. C,ronaldo is leagues ahead of zlatan....also 6ft3...watching compilation vids of there skills means nothing....its how they play week in week out....and zlatan doesnt touch ronaldo...

did i say he touched him? i thought that was m j?

you can tell your a man u supporter

i was just saying he has stupid amounts of technique and skills if not better than c ronaldo i didnt say he was a better player, but they are complete different players so you cant compare the 2 youd be stupid to try, altho zlatan is on fkn mint form as are inter, hes scored some screamers this year so its not a case he "doesnt touch c ronaldo" he just does a complete diff job, similar to saying the worlds best deffender would never be talked about as a good a player as a skillfull exciting one like c ronaldo or a goal scoring machine

Jacko
19th February 2008, 17:22
they are infact pretty similar players....

Hanuman
19th February 2008, 17:28

This was more petty than the first... Slight tug of the shirt, about a second delay, then Torres hits the floor rolling around...

Liverpool are playing better than they did in the fa cup, i reckon it will be either 2-1 to liverpool or a 1-0 win.

Good result for Liverpool, shame the ref spoiled the game though with the sending off. Always seems to happen with the high profile games.

Still got the hardest part to go yet lads.

Chelseas game was boring, both teams playing for a draw and playing a defesive game, only liven up when, lamps, anelka came on. They seemed to be resting everyone for the cup final this week

Scattle
20th February 2008, 08:55
Only saw highlights of the Chelsea game, didn't look too brilliant as you say. Tbh I see United struggling in Lyon tonight, dark horses ftl.

Robb
20th February 2008, 09:24
....could definetly tell that the ref was making up for his poor sending off at times. all in all a shocker for the ref.

went to sleep crying last night with my wasted betting slips in my hand.

Ref was a scouser, Linesmans from Milan (or just blind)

Liverpool stuffed them though, was like a shooting range, im suprised they only got 2 tbh. Gerrard

Bring on the next leg, if we can put one more in the net next match then they will need 4 or we win :A:
