agreed you still have sky one! dont really bother us to much though, we've got a v+ box (sky+) 80 hours of space got the xl tv package so we have everything including the stanta (spelling) sport package plus virgin have music on demand which is free to us, plus the catch up tv phone and internet for £30 a month.

think to be fair ill end up getting the sky+ box to record with sky broadband and the free evening and weekend land line calls for £26 a month to be fair!
just think there is better tv on sky than freeview/virgin thing :)

can be a bit of a confusing site but gives full channel listings for each of its tv packages but the three for £30 deal seems to be the best value http://allyours.virginmedia.com/

yeh just been on virgin... checked out all the channels... pretty bummed about no sky1 tho (since me and the mrs are Lost fans)! how does it work with the phone line? coz obviosuly with Sky you need a BT phone line, is that the same with Virgin or do they take over the phone line?

no they come and put it in all, standard instalation is £25 for any service if you have 1 or 3 so not to bad. dont no what skys like its prob free but just look at the prices in the long run. we went with virgin because there was no bt line in our house so to have sky we would have had to pay bt to put a line in (£150+) so it was more suited for us to have virgin. just pick with what fits with you guys. Im not trying to plug virgin, it was just another option for you.

yeh i've read the bt line installation charge... friggin rip-off!!! there is a phone line in our house but who's it is i dont know. will have to get back to the previous owner and see if he had a land line and who it was with. cheers for the info! i guess BT is out the equation and now its between Virgin and Sky... with sky1 being the deciding factor (i could live without, but the mrs is another story)!

If the house has a socket try bt
Reconnect a BT line
If your house has had a BT phone service in the recent past and the line still has a dialling tone, it's likely it won't cost you anything to get your line working again (you can check for dial tone by plugging a telephone into the BT socket and lifting the receiver). You'll just have to pay your line rental (either monthly or quarterly), cost of calls, and for any additional services you require from BT.
If you don't currently have a phone provider and believe your property once had a BT line that has been disconnected, just look for a white BT phone socket on your wall. If you find one, this may give an indication that you can get connected, on payment of a standard connection charge. All reconnections are subject to a credit check, as a result of which customers may be required to pay a deposit. A minimum term of 12 months will apply.
See our Terms & Conditions for full details of connection charges.
Please call 0808 100 7722 with your credit card details. And don't forget to ask
