Tools > Internet Options > Clear history.

Sounds like you have been looking on dodgy sites.

Which version of IE do you have?

Verison 7

Tools>internet options > there is a section under general named browser history, click delete on there and select delete all, tick the offline files and click ok.

that is to remove anything. You can remove just the autocomplete entry list.
