hey there just signed up, i am compleatley stuck with my saxo (1998 vtr) and need some serious help.

ok problems

steering very light, the tyres are fine so if p/s fluid but it feels as the the car jumps all over the road especially when throttling or breaking. this happens most when turning the car slightly over long bends.

no second gear

it goes in fine no grinding or anything but as soon as you let go of the gear stick it pops straight out. if you hold the gearstick you can use second for a while before you increase your revs and then it forces itself back out.

the back of the car seems stupidly high, its as though it is getting higer all of the time i know it sounds stupid but it wasnt that high when i bought it?????

i know im a total newb with no mechanical experience but any and all help would be apreciated

You may need new power steering, if it is black sort of colour you need new fluid, it should be a red colour, may need a new gearbox or just the cog for second gear as the dog clutch may that engages second may be on its way out. I never heard of a car raising itself, you must be imagining things, lol.

make sure the tracking is ok
poss something bent on suspension
has the front sagged and not the back going up

my gears did that until the diff blew out of the bell housing. stopped doing it after that.lol
