Planning permission is an arse. Brother got rejected 3 times, so just built it anyway.

I work in an architects and yes I agree planning permission is a bitch........
But if you do build without it, they can legally get you to knock it down, happened on a few projects we know of.

Planning is there for a reason, mainly because of this.....have to take into account the surroundings, inkeeping with other developments in the neighbourhood, also now the Carbon emissions from new developments.
All well an good saying its his land, but its gonna be there for many years after the geezer keels over......
The land he built it on could of been contimanated, he probably hasn't built to a building regulations standard......if it falls down and someone dies....who do they point the finger at??
Good on him for doing it though.....but they will get him to knock it down or enter a planning application and they will fuck him over now on purpose and no doubt refuse it.....bye bye castle
