Where to buy Absinthe?

Just wondering if any of you know a good place to buy Absinthe in the UK (preferably a website). Looking for about 60% volume, if not higher.

think its around that mark, might be 50% but trust me it still does the job.. been known to be a psychoactive drug. i bought a bottle in ibiza made, does mess with ur head! tastes like strong mouthwash in my opinion.

Best way we used to drink one in our younger years....was to light it....blow it out....drink it...swish round in mouth....spit back into glass....then down it....turn shot glass upside down on bar and suck fumes out with a straw.

yeh it has gold in it which put tiny guts in your throat and mouth which apparently enables the alchohol to enter the blood quicker. suonds more like torture to me! ive tried it though its quite nice.

I cant stand the stuff really cant, but i have atleast 2 shots of it on a night out, we usuall all neck the 2 and then have large swigs of our pint, just a way to get pissed quicker i suppose always done it kinda just stuck now!

Depends what your after bud, a drink to get wrecked on some proper good quality absinthe.

Diablo stuff isnt absinthe, it should be no more than 80%, it shouldnt taste like anissed (like all the strong ones do), you should set it on fire, it shouldnt be drank as a shot, it doesnt make you hallucinate.

The worst publicised and most lied about drink in the world imo.

Tesco used to sell the La Fee absinthe which is a good one to start with if your getting into it, last i checked though they now sell a 50% abv version which i wouldnt touch.

Should be drank with ice cool water, and sugar if you need it sweeter.

Absinthe ... Bad and Good Memories!

When i first started going out at about 14, one of the bars i went to sold a 75ml shot of absinthe, attached to the top of a bottle of 1664. Down shot neck bottle ... one of the good ones!

16th birthday me and a friend finished a bottle off between us, went to the first bar, had a vod red pitcher with 15 shots and 3 cans in! Rest of the night was a blurrrrrrrr ... woke up asleep in my dogs bed, with 4 front teeth loose, thinking i had been battered. Turns out i fell over at some point and remember nothing!

Got 4 bottles here of the LaFee absinthe at the min, paid £12 for them all!

the best absinthe is made using wormwood. It should have a strong flavour but it shouldn't burn your mouth. I use an absinthe spoon, place a sugar cube on top, and pour 25ml of water into a 25ml shot of absinthe drop by drop over the sugar and through the spoon. This should make a cloudy green appearance happen. Drink it slowly but in no more than 2-3 mouthfuls. This will give the hallucinogenic effect 'the green fairy.'
