i have looked at a number of different websites for a dimma grill and the cheapest i can find it (including delivery) is £61.95 and that's from cc motorsport.

anybody know where i may be able to find it cheaper than that?

i have tried dimma, esp design, passion motorsport and obviously cc motorsport.

If that is the price you've been quoted for a genuine dimma grille that is pretty good.

looks good mate. was it hard to fit? i think its only a few clips etc at the back aint it?

DevilDamo

not hard to fit at all. the mesh comes as a rectangular piece. cut that to fit behind the grill, obviously leaving enough around the edge for the screws to hold it in place and then just pop the old one and in goes the new one.

what are you going to do in being able to access the bonnet release catch?

Neil_Saxo

ah never thought of that. not quite sure. could leave a wee gap to fit a finger or 2 in to push it up. how did u do it on ur sax?

When I did my grille in the saxo I left a little gap at the top for me to just push the release up and you couldn't even see it!

i fixed a bolt through the plastic bonnet catch with a net to hold it in tight. and then when i went to release the bonnet from the passenger side, the bonnet used to raise slightly (like it does on all saxo's) and then i was able to get my finger under the bottom of the bonnet and then push the bolt up, which in turn releases the catch.

may sound complication, but trust me, it's not.

ok i have now found the grill for... £58.40 (inc. vat and delivery). this is the cheapest and i (oz) found it at espdesign. i did look there before but i didnt take into account that the grill can come with a choice of two meshes. i therefore chose the most expensive (stainless steel). i am only going for an aluminium mesh, which makes it a bit cheaper.

i cut a small hole in my mesh then got some cable off an old extension about 6cm long, cut it down the length of it got the old wires out then edged the meshed hole with the cable.
and to be honest it looks good, better than i thought it would be, before i put it on.

ok people, i had phonecall today saying that the grill i ordered from esp design is out of stock and will not be back in stock for at least another 4 weeks!!!

i have now cancelled my order with them, money will be refunded accordingly, so i have now placed the order with cc motorsport who DO have them in stock, but are £3 more expensive!!! hehe! smileys/smiley4.gif

i also went and bought some BLACK mesh today for the grill (as it comes with silver) and also for when i come round in removing the front fog lights smileys/smiley20.gif

DevilDamo

my first was a 1.0i blue one. i then part exchanged that for a 1.4i black one. that was involved in a write-off, so i got an exact replacement and then i got rid of that and now own a black vtr. but i did have an astra sri before the vtr smileys/smiley13.gif
