A work colleague at my old place of work had one.

Had it for 6 months and it cost £3k to repair in that time (Turbo also)

The NA still has 225bhp from 3.0l. TT are 300ish.

ad the 2jz block is good for 600hp, then you need to start uprating it, e.g Pistons they are very reliable.

For a Decent Manual TT you'll be paying 8k ish.
Decent Manual NA about 4.5k.

defo might as well go for the turbo if the insurance is the same!"

Scattle

I love em ive always wanted one.

My X's brother had one ace car but very very very dear to run. Drink petrol like its going out of fassion and Parts prices are silly telephone number type high Even everday stuff like brake pads and discs.

Having said that tho they are really well built and wont go wrong often.

MR2 is more twitchy than a supra, as its mid engined!

really not a fan of Supras.
RX7 however....

RCD-Performance
22nd February 2008, 16:12
mmm, supras.

Fast, yes, but the gearbox is AWEFUL! first and second are just too close, no real acceleration until third.

I've worked on supras running 8-900bhp on the standard internals, i do believe there is one floating around with 1000bhp through the standard egnine, go on forever, don't buy a twin turbo, go for one thats been single turbo converted, the twin turbos is a strange design, the first turbo boosts too a certain pressure only then does the second turbo kick in, so low down power is crap!

99.9% of serious supra tuners convert to single turbo :)
Just my 2p :D

22nd February 2008, 17:49
supras kick ass!! they are monsters. deff get one. i have seen one pushing 1000BHP+

most people get the twin turbo and convert it to a big single setup. some have big twin turbo setup but the turbo lag is big, thats why normally they have one of the two turbos smaller than the other. but i would NOT recommend getting a non-turbo and converting, alot of work and never seem as powerful.

go to www.suprastore.com

great for supra's :)

I am unsure on supras, when i see them on internet etc i dont like them. But when i see them in real life i am like wow. I was looking into the price off getting one, but insurance is too high. Although i could insure a Nissian 300ZX 3litre Twin-turbo for the same price as my vts :panic:
