So if you're insured between 6am-11pm, what happens if someone breaks in at 2am?

I couldn't stand a tracker system as I tend to go out/come home at night in my sax. Although it could of saved my old saxo :(

Good to get insured at such a low price. With more than when I was 17 with pass plus I was to be charged £2500 tpft.

They love us young-uns ;)

nail on the head. yup its an expensive thing insuring a car... you've made some smallish sacrifices to get it to an acceptable price.

enjoy driving :)

Not unless you specifically chose for pay-as-you go insurance. Their other Insurance is just normal.

Too high risk, they won't insure you. I've already tried that :(

why didnt your mam/dad just be kind and insure it for you? by that i meen, my saxo is registerd to my mam, and im a named driver and we both use it "ahem" cost me £450! its the way forward! and i can use it 24hours a day :P

then you never build up your no claims!!!

then you never build up your no claims!!!

Technicaly your wrong, you get all these companies saying named drivers get their own no claims blah blah and they use it as a selling point, but in reality, say i go to a different insurer, more than HAS to say i have not had a claim regardless if i was a named driver or not, thus prooving i have however many years no claims.

for example

my mum was with an insurance comapy thru the MG Owners Club and she done it online for 3 years, not knowing that you dont get a no claims bonus if you do it online (stupid i no!) but when she went to more than her old insurance company HAD to say she hadnt had a bump, so more than took it as 3 years no claims!!

so all this about named drivers not geting no claims etc is a load of pap really :A: :A:

how you meen by that? im coverd fully comp on it, so me having a crash in it wold be no different than my mam having a bump in it ........

If they find out that you've been driving it all the time (Which they will) and you have a crash then they won't pay out.

Yep that's right, Therefore your £450 is a waste of money because your insurance is invalid anyway. Good luck if you crash into a Bugatti!!

27th February 2008, 10:04
lol believe me ill be fine, and i dotn drive it all the time as im insured on the saxo and on a MG ZR so i have each for about 2 weeks each, so technically i dont drive it all the time :)

Siders77
27th February 2008, 10:17
But you say "we both use it "ahem" " So to me it seems that you're saying that your mum doesn't use the car and you do, even though you drive it for about 2 weeks YOU still drive it all the time, when the car is being driven. If you get what I mean.

27th February 2008, 10:24
your mum has to drive it more than you for your policy to be valid!

but on topic i couldnt stand not driving after 11pm wouldnt have a life if i couldnt go out lol

Spanky
27th February 2008, 10:24
yea, but my mum also drives it, so technically they cant proove who has it more as its never in the same place more long periods of time, really... and i have cctv evidence incase anyone else tried to say otherwise lol either way id find away round it lol

but yea as you lot say it is risky, but its saving me a god damn bomb!

and if i crashed all by myself a wudnt bother claiming anyways, my own fault then!

How long do you get for driving without valid insurance cover nowadays?

I pay £1800 for my full comp insurance, if you cheat the system it will screw you.

Spanky
27th February 2008, 13:43
yea well if i get screwed its my own fault, no one elses and its a risk im willing to take to save myself around 2500 (got quoted 3k for my vtr fully comp :O

What happens if your insurance is found to be void and you do massive amount of damage or worse, hurt somebody else.

I cant see how people can justify there actions, just because they don't want a "1.poo" they are willing to cut corners on insurance and risk serious prosecutions. The whole thing seems very selfish and with no respect for fellow man.

Not if your insurance is void, its not worth the paper it written on then.
Each to there own, I just don't understand why people take the risk.
Sure, your not alone, lots of people do it, but that doesn't make it right.

Spanky
27th February 2008, 15:40

Mate crashed his 306, his mum never has used his carand she was the main driver... and everything was fine :y: They don't find out, they have no way of finding out anymore. They only get suspicious if you crash more than once. As long as its registered to the policy holder it's fine.
