View Full Version : anyone else sick of "modern football"?

seems to me its full of fairies especially in the prem..

when tackling even if you GET the ball it may still be a foul... you cant have your foot or arms higher than they would be if you wernt going in for a tackle / header.

you cant go anywhere near a keeper from a corner without giving a free kick away

the sheeeeeeer amount of fkn fairies who dive and roll around is getting on me nerves, you can see when someones faking it takes 2mins to get up, during that time the other team kicks the ball out in anger... only for the player to be running around within a minute (they aint men!)

was watching rugby the other day they never go down for nothing faking it, when you do go down the game carries on and even the physio is at risk as the game is carried on around the injured player,

footballers nowadays fkn constantly kissing each others heads and necks WTF. iv played at various levels and met a few slapped asses here and there but not constantly running up and kissing each others heads and necks !

eduardos broken leg? it was SOOOOOO bad they couldnt show it? WTF, so larsons cisses smiths wernt bad yet i showed them straight away its just soooo fkn exagerated (you see casualty or other earlier programmes with nasty scenes, youl watch a rugby game with a man getting his eyes gauged out of his head

the arsenal players around him were nearly in tears praying to god as if to say (LET HIM LIVEEEEEEEE) yes before you start im aware its nasty iv seen it happen in games, none of the other team were looking like they were going to throw up. gallas recently is a pure girl nearly in tears, and nearly in tears after the game as if it was the world cup final he just lost in the last minute before he planned on retiring,

just annoys me how crap its gone and fairy like, me lass said to me watching MOTD i bet its a matter of time before they snog each other after scoring

anyone else just waiting for teams to be running around in tuu tuus and making out full on after scoring a goal / the wags coming on waving handbags after a bad tackle?

I hate football anyway..... it's played by a load of bad actors.

Please take note that this is just 'My personal opinion'.

hahaha!

i do agree mate that the rules do protect players (especially keepers, and ESPECIALLY in champions league) whatever happened to a good old 50/50 tackle!

players do get injured, its part of the game!

although nobody wants to see players get bad injuries (eduardo etc) its part of the game, these players are insured for millions and millions and recieve the best medical treatment there is, i remember when i broke my leg... sat in A & E for 4 hours crying my eyes out before i was even seen...

I agree there is no need for players to be rolling around etc, and diving...

it does annoy me when your team gets penalised for a 'foul' on the keeper, they are too protected, if you think about it, the keepers are 9 times out of 10 the biggest players on the pitch but go down like a sack of shite lol

rant over!

haha thats the best thing about when a player goes down they dont just "dive" you see their mouth going... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (iv been shot)

tackles from the side are iffy now, even if you get the ball THEN the player 10 years ago that would be a GREAT tackling getting the ball and crunching the player... now its a case of MAN DOWN MANNNNN DOWNNNNNNNNNNNN fould.... red card....... player on the floor for 15minutes rolling around as someone has just scuffed his matchly new boots

saxokid2006
25th February 2008, 10:48
what fucks me off is even the english players are getting in on it now

gerrard and rooney spring to mind...

Hanuman
25th February 2008, 10:50
thing is... its the FA's fault, if ronaldo goes down and wins free kicks or penalties that change the game,,,, obviously gerrard and rooney would be STUPID to not do the same thing tbh, its the fa for being so fkn soft and it isnt gonna change now, theres cameras on every single bloody angle so if you have missed a tackle and gone unnoticed chances are after the game fa will ban you for a missed tackle or something daft like that... football is going from a sport to a science to american football, stop start stop start

Hanuman
25th February 2008, 10:52
take example arsenal, cliches penalty i was loving the fact he gave it away, but he clearly got the ball and the other guy rolled over, cliche didnt even contest it... if that was a sunday league player they would have headbutted the ref for being so fkn stupid yet cliche just basically accepted it was a penalty (as obviously they are used to such soft decisions) its a joke that shows how bad it is when the players dont even contest or complain

Bad Actors???

Please......there is a few which make it a bad game....but would love to see some of you take that tackle on Saturday where Eduardo broke his leg in two places.....the force these players throw into a tackle is pretty high...

If you dont like it....simple....dont watch it

you a prem footballer or something :P

we aint saying there isnt force in tackles bud cmon dont be so daft were on about diving and rolling around not general tackles which would hurt...

yea there is force in tackles just as much as any other human being ie sunday league... just because there prem footballers doesnt mean they cango in with more force than any other footballer.. thats just individual talent,

yea eduardos tackle would have hurt and actually happens alot in football we aint dissing that, were on about the drogba likes in the pic above... if you see that pic then theres no way you can defend it lol

Doesnt bother me though.....its part of the game nowadays.....

If you were on that pitch...about to take a shot in the penalty box to score the winner and realised the defender was pretty close to you....you wouldnt take a tumble?

used to dive occasionally at football.

its a defenders responsibility to make the tackle or not. if they come flying in without care they should expect not to get the ball and/or give away a foul.

obviously you haven't seen barcelona starting to get back into form in the spanish league. ronaldinho with returning match fitness, etoo scoring goals, messi simply sublime. whole squad (perhaps with the exception of gudjonsen ) play such attractive football.

their recent 5-1 win over levante was a joy to watch, contrasted by real madrid's loss of form in a 1-0 defeat to getafe with one of the strangest goals i think i've seen.

Hanuman

im on about how soft the game has gotten with diving and what not..... not that i think modern football when its actually played is worse,

i love watching football im just sick of the way its gone in regards to gheyness as per my previous points, iv not said anything about poor footballing being played just the other things surrounding it which ruin a good game

there is divers in the game, but on the other hand there is players that are dirty and tackle people with intent to injure!
back in the day football was rough and players just had to take it that were skillful, they got wise and realised they could claim for anything!

Hanuman

nout better than watching a skillfull player v a good deffensive player,,, last years kaka v mascherano, the first time that season kaka had been in someone elses back pocket... theres nout better than watching a skillfull player getting torn apart by a quality deffensive midfielder

It is getting quite pathetic that the european way of playing is coming into the english game more and more, now you can't shoulder barge someone without giving away a free kick. It's crazy. I played both football and rugby and the abuse people got for rolling about on the floor, i remember the only time i have ever stayed down was when i did my knee playing rugby, stayed down, but got up and carried on. If you watch both games, there are not a lot of difference between the no. of players that stay down injured, but more often than not the rugby players try to get up themselves before getting physio on. I have never seen a footballer do that, unless they don't get their own way and ball is not put out of play by the other team.

Football is poo. Always thought it was full of girls rolling about. Rugby is a real mans sport. Feck id rather watch cricket than football. Someetimes they get hit in the balls with those hard balls, Ouch and they dont run jump dive and roll about like theyve been shot.

Cricket for the WIN

The diving is a bit girly tbh, some Arse-nal fan has posted a reply to Eduardo's leg break on youtube, and said Taylor should be removed from the game. I imediately told him where he could shove his opinions. You rarely ever see the teams in the lower leagues or bottom on the prem diving etc. Mostly the overpaid c*nts from Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool etc. do it. When i play football i get horribly sweaty, my hair is a mess and i have snot dribbling down my nose (ok maybe not the snot) i dont care, alot of these so called "professional" players are more worried about hair and if they have mud on their shirt! If Saturdays game with Arsenal happened to be a Rugby match, you would've seen Eduardo come back onto the pitch second half and score a try. So its a broken leg, get up and run it off son :y:

It's not just "kicking a ball" though is it?!

Name another sport thats really hard to learn:

Rugby = Throw and catch a ball a run.
Cricket = Hit ball with bat, run, catch a ball (I was doing this when i was 5)
Golf = Hit ball with club, go for walk in the park to find said ball.

ice hockey - learn how to skate, learn how to control a puck with a stick, learn how to shoot. Learn how to use your body as a defensive part of you play.

Football, learn how to drible a ball and shot.

Oh and you need a grade A in drama also

these comments towards any sport make me laugh at how stupid they are tbh name a sport that you could compare you could end up with a list like this...

boxing- throwing your fists
rugby - running into and through people
tennis - hitting a ball
gymnastics - bending
cricket - again hitting a smaller ball

see what i mean.. if your gonna class football as "kicking a ball" then you dont have a clue about sports

and peej as for your comments bit OTT tbh, its not just the top teams who dive its any team in the prem with the phrase of "cant beat em join em" lower leagues isnt AS bad as the prem but it certainly is more than it should be. and yea rugby is tough but a rugby player wouldnt have "got up and carried on with a broken leg like that im guessing you were probably messing a bit but still

ice...
learn to skate...
learn to control puck stick
learn to shoot
learn to use body to be deffensive

learn to run
learn to dribble
learn all the diff techniques of shooting bobby carlos style beckham blabla
learn to use your body deffensively and attacking

i thought most people knew how to run before they played football? or am i just special?

Ill agree to disagree with you cause obviously we have different opinions on whats needed for different sports. As for not having a clue about sports, i agree i am not a major sports man to be honest. I know my stuff about ice and i like to watch a bit of rugby. But im no pro. And i am certinaly not an arm chair coach like most people. Although saying i dont have a clue because my opinion of football is just kicking a ball is total tosh. That is exactly what it is kicking a ball.

My orginal comment was about people who dont like football cause they cant play. As stated there is a difference between playing football and being good at football, same with all sports.

have to say i challenge anyone to try and learn golf and become really good at it within a few weeks its not easy.
