Just found this thread, but the link isn't working, can anyone explain how to do this? does it just clip out of place with a bit of force?

yeah as sean said. Take out rear door cards and then take out the rear speakers. The plastic mesh is part of the door cards and therfore wont come off no matter how hard you try - unless you cut which is pointless lol

I know nothing about car audio mate, I have only listened to several hundread sound off quaility cars in the past 10 years. I was also going to compete in SQ sound off in 04 but some dozy bint drove in to the side of my car the weekend before Donny and wrote it off. I am also not aware that audio is now recorded with rear channels as well as the left and right (stereo) channels its been recorded in for years!
Then again maybe your just uneducated!

daves right mate, ask anyone that has/or are into sq and the likes, wont have rear speakers, some that do only fade them out, and only fade them in slightly when some one in rear
all I have is one sub, and a set of 17cm comps and the sound is so much beter

i prefer the vocals around the middle of the car not just up front but thats just me i have my sub for bass and dont really have bass throught the speakers but its all about personal preference i have mine sat on dso3 to have the sound up to but again thats just the way i like it not saying anyone else is wrong just its personal preference not to or to have rear speakers
