Hi,
Just wandering what stuff you need to buy if you are going to lower the car 40mm?
Do i need springs, shocks or the whole works....for front and rear what do i need?

to lower the car all you need is 2 front springs and the torsion bar set to match!

Suggested lowering application:
10mm-40mm = Springs are good without needing shocks.
40mm+ = Shocks are really required to keep handling and performance of the car to the maximum. 60mm springs on standard shocks can be achieved but is not advised.
Fixed rate dampening shocks with give a certain % increased rate over the original set up.
Adjustable rate dampening shocks will allow you to adjust this rate your self using a key.
Full fixed kits usually start from £200.00 for kits such as Gmax, Apex, and Spax VSX.
Adjustable kits usually start from £300.00 for kits such as Avo, Spax PSX etc.
Springs range from £50-£125 depending on make from PI to Eibach.
I hope this information is helpful for you.

50mm sounds better to me. It will look crazy and handling will be perfect.
