right well, the car of suprises...!

Took my car to a citroen dealer today for this crunching noise when i turn the steering wheel. I've been advised that the shock is moving in the insert for on lower bit. I've also been told that this means new suspension legs...Whats the damage for this? Also should this be happening on a 2002 car? everything seems to be going at once?! Any help as usual gets rep. thanky guys

is this on your new car? all depends on how the car was treated before, might have been ragged off public roads in potholes etc.

Would think that thats the only damage, posible the rim of the wheel aswell.

my shock lost its seal, which would be the same concequences as yours.

yeah bloody thing...

see i've been through service history and reciepts and on an mot it said about a light misting of oil around offside front shock. that was on the 06-07 mot. would this also cause the steering to be off centre? i'm assuming if one shock is fudged i'm counter steering? but when i let go of the wheel...as you do?, the car travels straight...

If i'm going to explain it the the dealer person what do i say needs replacing? do i just say "theres a problem with the drivers side shock as it crunches" or say "Citroen said there is a problem with the insert". i really need to call him about it today tbh as Citroen also told me not to drive it too far...:-/ Or i could email him and explain it in an email...hmm

Yeh, say what Citroen said.

A second hand set of front stuts aren't that expensive, and could put some nice shocks and springs in too :)

If there is a mist around the shock, it means it's on its way out so to last as long as it did, it's not too bad. I've know peoples that have gone in a couple of months. If you give me your reg, i can get you a price on a whole new shocks and springs if you want?? Only round corner to you aswell.
