Cd Player turing off!

Hi

I have wired up my cd player which is about the 10th one I have done and have never had a problem.

However, this one is a problem!

The cd player works fine when the car is stopped but when the car drives it turns off and stays off.

I thought their may be a loose connection in the wiring I did but there isnt.

It is a second hand cd player so could it be faulty???

Do you know how to test the live with a multimeter?

What settings do I need it on?

yes mate you would jus put the red prong on the switched live and the earth onto an earth, switch the ignition on and it should go to 12 volts

what multimeter do you have exactly

Ok thats what I did and it says 12volts so maybe it is the cd player. There was also 12volts at the permanent live.
