Yes it does.. its more than that but ins imple terms its a way of communicating to ur other ps3 owners and mates.
Its easier set game sup between you. you can enter rooms that youc reate that your mates can simply just walk into u stand sit or do whatever in this room talk with each other until all your mates r in this room and then you can join a private or selected lobby of a certain gaame u wanna play. makes it easier to find your mates when playing games online and can enter at same time.
thats just a small part to play of it. keyboards will be integrated with it aswell as voice coms.
there n then after u can also do in these rooms such as put a blu ray film in ur ps3 play it and your m8s in the same room can watch the bluray film from your machine. all so ive heard! / or seen from ps3home websites :) mor elike shop, and check inet, meet new peeps etc

On a PS3 forum they have looked into it and its a Swedish registered site, has no obvious connection to Sony..

The official PS3 Home site still says about registering for open beta starts soon..:panic:

Also a chap on the PS3 forum is part of the beta trial and he says its not true either as they still have more than 18 days of work still left to do on it..:(

as all i can gather is instead of scrolling thro menus you walk into them ect, basically play the bloody sims.. cant see the point in it at all apart from being different to just usual scrolling menus ?

it all about changing clothes changing ur HOME, and design WTF.... surely if u actualy like that youd play the sims?

By the way, i heard on the official playstation forum that this HOME countdown is a hoax. There are a few hoaxes going around to fool everyone in thinking HOME is coming out sooner than it actually is.

the link isnt official it was counting down to a date that past not so long ago (the Thursday of the gdc) and it just sat on 00:00:00 then magically started to count down to the 20th of march i believe

the biggest hint of when its coming is on the 23rd which was leaked by someone (jonny something cant remeber right now) in japan that has been bang on about every other info he has given and is well respected in japan.

home doesnt give the ability for ingame xmb ( messaging etc) but the new firmware will, which is thought to be released along with home but there is no evidence of this, although it has been said recently by a sony official that ingame xmb will be in the summer.
