When i sold my clio, i started out by telling the guy what wasa wrong with it, i.e the bump in the door an the broken air vent. He loved the fact that i was telling the truth. and also if you start on the bad things (not saying that there is anything wrong with your car) but you can finish on a high, if that makes sense? just tell the truth, stick to your guns! hope this helps!

cuz some car salesmen act really arrogant with you, if u act arrogant people think that they are getting a good deal because of your attitude towards selling it. sorta makes sense lol

aye....but he is telling the buyer the worst thing 1st, so when it comes to the last wee problem....its very minor.

but yeah mate be honest, and make sure the car is 150% spotless (shiny as fuck and not one bitta dirt in and out, tyres slicked etc etc), as 1st impressions count the most and they will think you/her have looked after the car

You know wat you want for it at the end of the day. If its been for sale for 8 months (for example) and hasnt sold then consider lowering the price. I know its less money but it will devalue every day its not sold. Tbh it looke like a clean car from the ad and looks about the right price. Everyone is going to try to haggle but get a price in mind that you are going to drop to and dont take any less. Let them walk away and wait for the next buyer

Get ruddy round.... one look at ruddy arms and he wont try to haggle!

State all the good points the car has...never state the bad ones.....unless its really bad. Just wait until they ask you or notice, which they might not. Also never give away the least amount you will let it go for, as it limits your price....and most twats will still bid lower.

that annoys me too mate!

but you know it will eventually sell. the 1st 1/4 of the year is hard to sell, because people are still skint after xmas (and yes people can still be skint for a few months after...knock on affect etc)

it will sell, when your least expecting it.

i advertised my old audi 20v coupe in autotrader and 2 other books, plus 2 local forums to me and i had it parked at a main road, where 1000s of people pass everyday. it still didnt sell.

i forgot to take the advert off the window and it lay for about a month n half and one day my mobile rang. It was a guy who had moved up the street, about 2 days earlier. He was busy for a few hours, so he was coming back to look at it later that day. I just immediately took him as a timewaster. He then rang back a few hours later...had a look round it, and when he made an offer (considering the advert on window had a price....i had a price in mind, as i wanted rid of asap) his offer was £100 more than i wanted lol.....i let on i wasnt sure and tried pushing for £150 more, so it sounded like i was trying not to let him off easy, but after 5 mins of himming and haaing.....i accepted his offer!

i went in the house and give my "bit" the biggest riding of her life lol
